If my good old grand mother taught me two things it was not to forget the lesser known vegetables and that bacon can be combined with almost everything. These bacon wrapped asparagus are one of ma favourites – especially at dinner parties, because they are so easy to make and are an undeniable favourite of all my guests.
- 30 strips of streaky bacon
- 30 slim green asparagus
- Line two plates with baking paper ( this will save you a lot of work ) and preheat the oven at 200 degrees.
- Wrap the bacon around the asparagus. The best way to do it is to work your way up from the bottom of the asparagus to the top. Make sure you wrap everything tight enough and that each layer overlaps slightly. This way you make sure that the wrapping will not come loose. Leave about 2 cm of the top ( so the head and a little bit of the body) unwrapped.
- Bake for 15 minutes in the oven
These absolutely amazing appetizers are immediately ready to serve.
